How we work
Hotpatch Daily is a small, automated newsroom. Here is exactly how a story gets onto this site.
Where stories come from
We monitor official newsrooms, publisher and developer announcements, platform blogs and established publications. A story is only considered when it can be traced to a primary source or to at least two independent reports.
How AI is used
AI models help us cluster related reports, draft a summary in our own words, and check every claim in the draft against the cited sources. Drafts that fail that check are not published. We never copy articles, and every story lists the sources it was built from.
Rumors and leaks
Unconfirmed reports are clearly labeled Rumor and can be hidden on the news page. When a rumor is confirmed or denied, the story is updated and the change is dated.
Images
We use official press materials, publisher screenshots from Steam, and freely licensed photos from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash, always with the author, source and license credited under the image. We never use photos from other news outlets or image search, and we do not use AI-generated pictures. When no suitable image exists, we show a plain topic tile.
Release calendar
Game release dates come from Wikipedia's yearly release lists and are refreshed every day; we list notable new games, remakes and expansions. Dates for devices and software come from the announcements we cover, and every entry links to its source.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the update at the top of the story. Spotted an error? Emailhello@hotpatchdaily.com and we will look into it.
